There is always something in life that annoys the butt-load out of me. Some of which were today. So as I'm sitting here deciding what to write, something annoying happens. This is where we will start the list with
1. Brother steals cookies so I only get 4 cookies! I'm used to a whole handful.
2. Sister singing every second of her life
3. Sister singing every song of her life
4. Just her singing over-all. If I wanted to listen to an annoying teenager with little to no singing skills, I would have gone to a Hannah Montana Concert
5. Cleaning! Especially on a Sunday!
6. Low amount of gas in car which makes me have to stop to fill. This happens alot! Especially when I'm running late
7. The gas prices- 3.67!!!!!! Like Seriously!
8. Speeders
9. People who don't use turn signals
10. Messed up drive thru orders at McDonald. There is a reason I go through the drive thru; The Drive thru is speedy. No-one has time to go through the line twice just because they mistakenly messed up your order
11. When you're working at Shopko and people grab shirts from the pile/rack and just setting it back down without folding/ putting back where they found it.
12. People leaving the dressing rooms dirty. It is awesome when the customers bring then back to the return rack. It is nice when they put clothes back on the hanger. It sucks when everything is just laying on the ground with no hangers attached.
13. When people return clothes at Shopko. I understand that if they may not fit, but returning for no reason is stupid.
14. Those short little text messages where they just respond with a LOL or HAHA. I'm talking to you. Respond back with more then 3 letters.
15. The last 15 minutes of work. Every minute seems like 10. Most of the time I have nothing to do the last 15 minutes either because the store is clean by then.
16. When your blog deletes on you 3 times.
Well that is my list. Does any of my annoyances match yours? I don't know because I can't read minds, which gives me an idea
16. I can't read minds.
there you have it, 300+ words of pure gold. I hope that added a touch of sugar and spice to your life. :D

My Listly Randomness
(Because of the stupid Blogger, This is the third time writing this blog!!! Why does this thing need to save every 3 seconds?!)
This is a list I've been making the past week. My title sounds like a contradiction because how can you be random if you already have everything planned out. Well this is pretty random. Every week I run into the same issues with what will I write about. This week I was smart. When something random/small occurred, I wrote it down on my computers notepad. Here is what I conjured up this week.
I hope most of you know what Dove chocolates are. Well, they are delicious. The grocery store was having them on sale for 2/5. So I bought the caramel bag (along with PB M&Ms which legitly taste fabulous). Dove chocolates haven't been in my household since a long time. I've completely forgotten how well tasted these are. They just melt in your mouth and then POP comes the caramel. I also forgot about the sweet messages that the Dove company leaves on the inside of the wrappers. Some messages included: smile, breathe in and out, and my ultimate favorite of buy yourself some flowers. Though this last one isn't very practical. Sure, flowers look nice and smell pretty; the flowers eventually die. Also, you just look at the flowers. Nothing else can contribute from the flowers. Instead of buying 10$ flowers, you should buy 10$ worth of Dove chocolate. Tastier, Smoother and will bring much happiness.
The next item on my random list is the Shamrock shake. All I've heard this past month is how delicious and addictive the Shamrock shake. I decided to buy it this past week. I drove through the drive thru very excited. So excited that I bought a medium size in case it was that good. The entire order took about 10 minutes which is very long at McDonald's. Once I received the shake, I took a sip. First sip was alright. Second sip was alrighty then. Third sip was just pitiful. WHAT WAS GOOD ABOUT THIS SHAKE?! NOTHING! I had just wasted 3$ dollars for crap.
So the moral of this blog is to buy Dove chocolates, not the Shamrock shake.

Spring!
WOO! It is now officially spring! Well, atleast it was two weeks ago. Anyways, after three months of a dreadful, cold, white and gray winter; we now have spring! At the current moment, there is little to no snow on the ground! This deserves another woo, so WOO! With spring comes warm weather, cleaning, and a new part of life.
The one part of spring that I trully love is the warm weather. Right now in March the temperatures are roughly 30-40 degrees. Hopefully in April we will have much warmer weather; but this is my favorite part of spring. Finally waking up from the slumber of winter, and embracing the new time. The fact that we all know the birds will chirp, the flowers will bloom, and that the grass will green, is fantastic! New life is born in spring. So bring it on spring, bring on the warmth!
The next part of spring is spring cleaning. Now everyone reading this is probally saying "ew!" Well yea, I am saying that as well; but once you actually start cleaning, it is very riveting. I did some cleaning during my spring break. Before the cleaning, you couldn't see my floor. The room looked dead. I just woke up one morning and realized I should clean, so I did. Afterwards, my room was sparkling. I put up paintings, dusted, organized, vacummed, washed, febrezed my room. I love it now when I wake up to a bright room that is clean. I hope to continue my clean room for a whole month.
The last part of spring is how life changes. At my school, everything is happening now. Last week was tryouts for cheerleading. There was also sign ups for college courses in the summer/fall. Students are now deciding their future. Our life is changing in just two weeks. Also, we will graduate into our new grades later this spring. The spring is a time for change, and we will all shed our old skins for a new life.
So yes, It is now spring. The decision to make anything of it is up to you. Will you embrace the warmth, or spring clean. What about signing up for very difficult college classes. All of this is up to you, but hopefully you will begin to embrace the new spring.

Competition
Competition: the act of competing; rivalry for supremacy, a prize, etc
Competition can be a very interesting activity. From gym class mat ball to the basketball state tournament, everybody wants to win. This is what creates the competition portion. Well right now I have seen and will be apart of alot of competition. This past week in Des Moines, Iowa; Iowa had the Girls State Basketball Tournament and our entire school visited. Our school was full of spirit and ready to dominate and to deprive the visiting team of their spirit. I think we did this well. The tournament was quite competitive with the teams, but the Student sections were at war as well.
Shot after shot, the teams were playing with full on game. The fans were full on as well. Our cheers involved Shots, I Believe That We Will Win, Boo(which I don't like), Air ball and various others. The energy was creating sparks and out student section never gave up. We always defeated the other team in cheers. They were weak. We were strong. Easy as that. Even though we didn't win the state tournament, our fan section dominated with school spirit and awesomeness.
Another form of competition is very different from the state tournament, but involves cheerleading. Now just because I mentioned cheerleading, doesn't mean you should be shutting off the blog. Just listen to this story. It is the same as any team tryouts and should be read as well.
At the current moment, cheerleading has had try outs for freshman and sophomores. Varsity tryouts are coming up as well. When I last saw the tryout list, there were 30 girls signed up. This is completely different from past tryouts. I am used to 23 girls trying out, not 30. Many cheerleaders are stepping up their game. The next few weeks will be very hectic.
Competition can bring the worst and the best out of people. These competitions have and will bring the awesomeness that is our school.

Bad Drivers
Every human has their limits. Some are very thin when it comes to crossing the line while others are okay with life and with what life has to come. At times I have a thick line but the past few days, the line has been thinning. With what you may ask? Well you probally aren't asking for all of you can read my blog title, but yes, bad drivers. Here is the back story for this blog post.
I got my license back in July when I turned 16 and I still consider myself a new driver. I am not a bad driver though. I fully understand when I am going too fast or slow. I know I should use my blinkers and I also know how to drive nicely. I do not cut people off. Many of you probally know where I am going with this but the story gets way better.
Lately, people on the streets have been very cranky. They aren't driving safely at all.I've had people cut me off this weekend. Then people are too slow or just speed by without a care. Over the weekend, I probally noticed 10 bad drivers on the street. 2 of which eventually got pulled over, but one driver that I wish would improve would be my father. Thankfully he does not read my blog. He speeds, doesn't use his blinkers and changes lanes too many times. I wish he would fix this but like many other drivers, they won't. People should go through drivers education again, because that was where I learned the basis of driving. People need to relearn their basics as well!
Now, there is hope for the world. Even though there is alot of bad drivers, there are good drivers as well. If the bad drivers would become good drivers, life would be great. I wouldn't be sitting in my living room complaining about the bad drivers. Instead, I would most likely be asleep. So please, drive better and drive safely.

President's Day... & Mattresses?
PRESS THIS LINK! They will help you better understand my blog post :) Please and thank you :D
Now before I even mention the video, I want to talk about my title choice. Tomorrow is President's Day. Many of us Americans know that President's day is about celebrating our past and present Presidents and how they have changed America to what we have today. Many of us also know that President's Day is the day of ultimate MATTRESSES SALES!!!! Wait what???? Yes, Americahas resorted to using a national federal holiday for sales. First it was Easter with a bunny. Then it was Christmas with a fat old guy with a beard. Now it is we celebrate President's Day with mattress sales. That is preposterous!
This past weekend I was stuck on the couch sick. All I could do was eat, sleep and watch television. So I did just that. When it came to the tv part, almost every other commercial break was filled with mattress sale commercials! I saw Tempurpedic, Macy's, Lazboy, and various other commercials. How do mattresses connect with our past presidents?! 0%! Yet, these stores were still advertising it. It is a tad funny though. They are squeezing money out of our wallets by connecting our Presidents and mattresses. Whats next, Colombus advising us to buy the coolest new electronics? Hopefully stores don't stoop that low.
Now I want to analyze this video. The video starts out with a mattress superstore jingle. Then is a WOOOO sound. What's so wowing about a mattress superstore? It is a store that sells mattresses. Not Narnia!
Another part that bothers me is when President Abraham Lincoln pukes up mattress prices. That is gross. Lastly, it ends the same way it started. The stupid way. A jingle and wooing. Congrats to our stores for making another holiday all about sales. It really shows the love we have for our presidents when all we can show forit is our lovely matress sales.

Broadway Filled Weekend
As the title reads, my weekend was filled with full on BROADWAY. For the past 2 weeks, 250 students have filled their nights with preparing for this weekend because this weekend was follies. Follies is such a big tradition in our area in Iowa. This year I was in the Orchestra act and we preformed a mix of Smooth Criminal, Bad Romance, and Smells like Teen Spirit. Personally, I believe we rocked these songs and the act. The best part of follies was definitely what occurred back stage. :)
Most of my time at follies was spent backstage in the MIC room. Some people who joined me were Haley Mallo, Halie Greenwood, Acacia Green-harrington, Allie Frank, Rebecca Harken and Andrew Olson. Though many people joined us every minute, these people were the main occupants of the room. There was sooooo many memories created in this room this weekend, and I will share a few of them.
One memory was the food that was in this room. Cheese nips, peanut butter M&Ms, whales, carmelcorn, peach rings, sprees, and much more. The best food of them all was definently Whales. We would throw the whales into our mouths and even attempted into others. The best Whales catcher was Ande Atkinson. He would catch like 20 whales in a row before he failed to catch another.
Another great memory was a lap dance. I will not go into deep detail with this one but someone got a lap dance. Another item I will not go into will be how guys are willingly open to stripping their shirts infront of a group of girls. Both of these events were pretty hilarious!
Also before our Orchestra act came up, the Step Up dance number was up. So backstage has loud dance music going. A few of us would go around and dance(Acacia and I). Acacia was dancing beautifuly while I was just messing around. Our dancing scene was hilarious to watch.
I know that there are many more memories to share about follies but I feel I can't share them all. Follies of 2011 will never leave my mind. The idea of follies has completly changed for me now. Follies was defenintly full of spice this year. Until next time, try to add some spice to your sugary life :)

Snow Days!
On February 1st and 2nd, something tragic/amazing happened. We had two days of no school! That was because our local area was attacked by the ravaging snow monster called Battle Antarctica. We were out of school for a whole two days while Battle Antarctica attacked the states. It was great/ boring. Now you may be asking why I have two phrases back slashed together. That's because these two days of relaxation from school had mix feeling for me and probably 1000 other students at our school.
Here are the benefits of the snow days
1. Sleep in
2. Extended work time for homework/projects
3. We got to catch up with our favorite soap operas
4. Some relaxation time
Here are the disadvantages of the snow days
1. Extended school schedule into summer
2. Caught up on chores (EW!)
3. Couldn't go anywhere because cars wouldn't start
4. We are behind in school so projects/homework is rushed
5. Procrastination hit many of us like rocks.
As you can see the disadvantages out number the benefits by one, but extended school schedule into summer counts as five. So really it was outnumbered by six.
So basically my entire snow days were filled with chores and catching up on some z's. The best part was obviously getting a root beer shake! When I went there (fourth time in three weeks) I saw the same guy from Sundays! Here is the back story for this. Every Sunday for the past three weeks I've driven to Birdsalls and ordered a root beer shake with friends. Every time I go to Birdsalls the same cashier/ice cream scooper guy was there! He started to recognize me more and more every time I went. This man was hilarious too. So not expecting him to be working Wednesdays, I see him. The ice cream scooper guy made my night after endless house chores.Once I enter the door he would always say "Uh oh, look what we've got here!" Then he asked what I would like but before I could muffle out root beer shake he is already making me one! Now that is what I call star service.

The snow days were boring and basically pointless but the root beer shake made the day better. I guess the root beer shake was my spice for those two days :D Have a good few days and please avoid Battle Antarctica while sipping on a root beer shake.

Shopko and Younkers
Recently I have read a blog about Kmart V.S. Walmart. Well I don't really visit these stores anymore because I work at Shopko. Many people don't think about Shopko when they think of department stores but I believe Shopko is a fancy Walmart. We definitely have cleaner areas and nicer merchandise. Almost every age group can shop at Shopko because of our available merchandise. Our merchandise won't fall apart on you! That makes Shopko better then Walmart.
Recently I visited Younkers to look for a band tee, when I noticed in the teen section some of the same merchaindise as Shopko! These items were about 5-10 $ more than the Shopko items. I couldn't believe my eyes. Younkers was trying to cheap out their customers. Their whole store was more expensive then Shopko. Our products are cheaper in price but of the same quality. We also don't hire stuck up snobs. We also have a greater amount of items. There is everything from inside plants to shoes to electronics. Shopko has a great amount of variety. That makes Shopko better then Younkers.
One thing that I'm suprised about Shopko is that we supply Justin Beiber trading cards. .........WTF! What do you need on Justin Bieber cards? Is one card his face, and another his hair? I really don't know why we have these cards, or why they even exist. Are these cards used for batteling? Wow! I can imagine this. Two kids are playing JB Battles and one calls out "Ha, my Justin Bieber hair card beats your Justin Bieber smile card with the enhancment of my JB hottness card. Now hand over your fangirl cards!" Really, just wow! What happened to girls playing with Barbies. I like his songs but the fact that when he smiles, girls oogle and scream with joy over him.
So lets recall what you learned from this blog post. Shopko is better then Walmart and Younkers. Younkers tries to cheap you out and that Justin Bieber cards do exist. Well their you go. Now you have some sugar and spice added to your life. :)

A Smile
Do humans ever realize how much a smile means to others? How it can simply lighten up any ones day is spectacularly amazing! The smile is 12 muscles. That is what our body uses to smile while we also spread the joy. Here are some facts about smiling that is very interesting.
1.We are born with the ability to smile, it is not something that we copy. For instance, even blind babies are able to smile.
2.Humans are able to differentiate between a real smile and a fake smile by seeing the difference in a persons eyes when they smile.
The site I found these facts is
I love smiling if I'm in a smiling mood, so if you see me not smiling its either A) sad time or B) bored time.
Right now it is smile time because I just had a root beer shake. Did you read that correctly cause I didn't say root beer float, I said root beer shake, and this shake is delicious. That's something else about smiling. Food always seems to bring happiness to humans. It may be part of the fact that food is delicious.
Now if a frown is on your face, here is something to smile about. I just hit my funny bone! There, now a smile is on your face. I have now spread a smile onto faces. :D
Something else to consider before I leave is about smiles. Smiles are worth a thousand words right? Well then I wish I could just put my smile on an essay and be done with it. Oh well!
This blog post has been pretty random but that's alright with me. I can be pretty random as well. So until next time remember, smile and spread the joy to the world!

Introduction
Hello Blog Reader. I notice that you are currently reading my blog. You have also noticed that this post would be my first. Yes, this post is my first post of this year and expect many to come. I'm not your average human being because I am me. No one else in this entire universe can say they are me and I'm proud of that.
Now you may be asking who am I? Well here is your answer; My name is Katelyn. My name does not include Katie or Lynn. Also K-A-T-E-L-Y-N is how you spell my name. There is no C or I in my version. So please remember how to spell it. I am a current student at a school in Iowa. No, not Idaho or Ohio. We are Iowa. We grow corn, not potatoes. That is hopefully something else you can remember from my blog. Also, I am currently employed at Shopko as an Apparel Associate. Basically, I fold clothes, handle returns, help locate items and organize our departments. It's a new learning journey for me working. Something else you may want to know is Cheer leading fills my afternoons on Mondays and Wednesdays, concluding that I am a cheerleader. For anyone out there wondering, YES! Cheerleading is definantly a sport. I most definently will cover this in a future blog post along with many other topics.
This blog will be randomness. From me ranting about life, to writing/reviewing subjects I have heard about. I am sugar and spice. A sweet gentle teenage girl with a heart of gold but every now and then I will suprise you. That would be my spice side. Now I bid my readers farewell for the night. Until next time remember, my name is spelt without C and I, and that Iowa is not Idaho. Thanks :)
